Arush Chopra (38) is a first generation entrepreneur who gave up his corporate career in Singapore to kick-start his entrepreneurial journey with his wife, Megha in 2014. Arush’s mother, an award-winning bio-chemist who studied Ayurveda and Naturopathy, had created some basic formulations which he found to be extremely effective and decided to brand them as ‘Just Herbs’. Just Herbs, which received investment from FMCG major Marico last year, once started as a three-member set-up with only a few products and now employs over 200 people, offers more than 90 SKUs across product categories and runs as an independent subsidiary of Marico from their headquarters in Chandigarh. Arush, who believes that big digital businesses can be built from India’s smaller towns, took a conscious call to start up in Chandigarh rather than a metropolitan city. The superior quality of life and the cost of doing business are both huge advantages that helped Arush and his team along their entrepreneurial journey as a boot-strapped profitable venture for over four years. Arush has a background in Media and Private Equity and has lived in Denmark, Holland, England and Singapore in previous professional and academic pursuits. He is a TEDx speaker and a recipient of the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and earned his MA from City University, London and a BMM degree from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. Arush is passionate about marketing, scaling-up teams and building consumer brands.
